molars, ga ga & eeeeeeeeee...

so our past week has definitely been a trying one. jack's molars are taking their toll on all of us at the moment. between the night-wakings and general fussiness, we're all pretty tired these days! thankfully the bottom left one has broken through, and the others aren't too far behind. um, they could hurry up though!

ga, ga and others sounds have become part of his constant babble these days. he makes all of these sounds, but sadly no real words other than dad. and if that's not bad enough, when you ask him to say mama, he says daddddeeee....ugh!

he has also recently reached new octaves with his voice...i mean there are some serious shrieks these days. they especially come out when it is time for bed/naps...i've never heard such a huge sound come out of such a little body!?

speaking of bed/naps...i'm not even going to go there. it is a constant struggle with him and always has been. we'll have a beautiful week of sleep, and then bam out of no where he is back to screaming when it's time to go down and waking 2+ x/night. i know molars are playing a part in this, but he has also become a tad manipulative...who would of thought that a 15 month old would know how to work the system, but i gotta say he does quite a nice job of it--he knows that mom cannot bear to hear him cry like that! and so it begins...i predict years of manipulation--wink, wink;)

ironically he wore these to bed on a night he decided to be up at 4am for the day...he looks pretty dissheveled and we will not be wearing this to bed any longer!

just being a goof-ball during snack...he loves to make this "all teeth" smile these days:)

mid-clap, just hanging in his sled...he loves to just sit in it

15 month check-up

we went to jack's 15 month check-up yesterday. granted he's 15.5 months, but i guess as long as we make it within his 15th month, we're fine! all looks good. the dr. said he looks perfectly healthy, and his lungs are especially healthy--jack screamed the moment the dr. walked in the door. he cried the entire time and for at least 1/2 of it the dr. wasn't even near him! he's progressing fine. i think i'm more worried over the fact that he doesn't really have many words than the dr. is, so that's a bit of a relief. i'm actually amazed he doesn't have any words considering we read all day long...that's his favorite thing to do these days. well that and get into trouble;) ironically the dr. and i were discussing safety and keeping things out of reach, etc. i of course assured him that everything is out of reach for jack, and then he went and pulled this little maneuver this morning...

i turn my back for one second and he's knocked this off the counter and made a run for it...i of course grabbed the camera before reprimanding and as you'll see that came back to bite me in the behind!

how can you get mad at a face like this?

don't mind if i do...

maybe if i turn my back from her she'll stop telling me no;)

and then i'll just turn the bag upside down and shake...

ma, here you forgot a crumb...

he really is too much these days...from his new-found temper, to his constant pulling things out of the hamper, off of the shelves, out of the garbage (eww), he has definitely developed a personality. literally as i type he's managed to wedge himself between the chair and ottoman. guess i should go!

oh and one more thing...his stats:

50-75% for weight
25-50% for height
90% for head circumference

so he's kinda short, fairly average weight and has a big head...hope he starts to even out a bit more!! although, i do think the head measurement was off because he was squirming and screaming when the nurse was trying to do it!

he got his flu shot booster, but we're delaying the mmr and chicken pox for now.

molars, anyone, anyone...

well its no wonder jack was not sleeping so well over the weekend!? his gums have been swollen for a while now, but i was finally able to get my finger in there on saturday and low and behold his top right molar has started to poke through. i felt the rest of his gums and they're so swollen. i feel so badly for him because i can only imagine how badly they hurt! in all honesty, he has handled these remarkable well in comparison to his other teeth. of course this is just the beginning of the process so we'll see how the rest of it goes:)

i guess jack is up for steak dinners if anyone is available;) we all know i'm not going to eat it with him!!

he's not a baby anymore...sniff...

we took jack for his first haircut on wednesday. his hair was finally to the point where it was too long to curl up and therefore resembled a baby mullet! i didn't want to cut it at all, but i knew it was time...i didn't want the poor kid to get made fun of:) anyways, we went to the cutest place called little stars. he got to sit in a retro airplane with his own flat screen! we put in a movie, but since jack could care less about t.v., it really didn't alleviate his state of being.

you know the old saying "a picture speaks a thousand words"...i think you'll find this to be right on in this case!!

ooh...this chair looks interesting

uh, who are you?

mom, i can't believe you're doing this to me?!

seriously, what is going on here??

for the love of god, just get me out of this chair!

main, i cannot wait for his next haircut. this was a LOT of fun--just kidding!

things about jack that make me smile....

since i missed his 15 month birthday (ahem, thanks again jack for eating the charger;), i figured i would post some things about jack that just melt my heart to make up for it!

1. his ear to ear smile
2. his love of books--we read books all day long. many of the same ones over and over again! plus his new little thing is to come right up to you and plop on your lap--so cute.
3. his excitement over seeing animals--he goes crazy for dogs and we recently put on the animal channel and he will run up to the t.v. and yell at the animals. it's hilarious!
4. his continued love of the vacuum...don't even mention the word or you'd better get it out.
5. the way he loves to snuggle when he first wakes up and after his naps. he loves to rest his head on your shoulder and scrunch his knees up.
6. when i'm in the middle of doing something and he runs up to me and out of no where hugs my knees...it makes me smile every time.
7. his current love of showing you where your eyes and nose are--usually by poking your eyes and squeezing your nose!
8. his love of mr. duck...he has a ton of toys, but mr. duck continues to be his favorite. he now comes with us just about anywhere!
9. his precocious grin, that almost always means he's gotten into something he's not supposed to.
and finally...
10. his unsolicited kisses, that almost always come when you least expect it, but most need it...what's better than that!

mmm...popsicle

i decided to make jack some yogurt popsicles since he his one year molars are making their way through... he seemed to like it at first, but he quickly decided he'd rather eat the other end...of course, why would jack do anything textbook;)

it has been a long time since i've posted, and you can blame this little person. he decided that the mac charger looked far too enticing to leave be...he shorted it out by eating it--oy!? but seriously, how can you be mad at a face like this!!!!

just a cute one...he is into putting things on top of things lately and then letting them roll off. i'm sure our neighbors below love us! as shown below he decided his dump truck needed to go on top of the ottoman.

on another note, he is FINALLY feeling better. i knew there was a happy kid in there somewhere and sure enough, he's back! these days he's really into smiling with his whole face, similar to the pic above. it is so cute...and i wish i could just freeze time for a little bit because he is soooo much fun these days.
