learn to skate!

so we have dubbed this week of vacation as a "skating bootcamp" of sorts. jack has gone everyday except for yesterday when they went and it turns out it was open figure skate. by the way, jack was really annoyed that only the girls were skating!? i think he thinks that boys play hockey and girls figure skate...i better get to him before mike does on this topic! in any event, explaining and teaching jack to skate has proved to be a challenge as he has said repeatedly this week the he doesn't need any advice, and he is the best hockey player ever. no self esteem issues here! i do think he would be progressing a bit better if he would just listen to someone, other than himself of course! anyways, here is some video of him skating.

eric and schroeder?! well, i would say i'd post a picture of you, but since they are jack's imaginary brothers i am unable to do so! he is really cracking me up with this though...just yesterday while i was reprimanding daley for something, jack had to also reprimand eric and put him in time-out. when i asked him what "they" looked like, he told me "medium-sized" four year olds-lol. of course mike had to immediately google this new found interest of jack to assure himself that it is in fact "normal" behavior!

daley's "hat" is not typical, but she usually wears this for when she is in the marching band-obviously;)

and my lame attempt at getting jack to cooperate for pictures...i really need to find new practice subjects. i can't imagine why my kids are less than enthralled to have me take their picture these days-lol!?
