duh, nuh, nuh, nuh...

MAT MAN!? i couldn't resist the cheesy pun:) jack broughthome mat man over vacation, and we had a lot of fun taking him just about everywhere we could think of. of course, i think i was more excited for this project than jack was.

sadly, this week was the last week of learn to skate until the summer. jack loved going every week, and his improvement was pretty amazing considering 8 weeks ago he couldn't even get himself back up when he fell. in fact, he improved so much that his instructors said he was ready to play hockey, and so we are officially signed up for the "black and blue" (pun intended!) league this summer. he is so excited.

he is also quite excited about playoff season, and in honor of game seven tonight, he sported his new rangers winter classic jersey to school today. to say it was not well received, given the bruins loss last night, would be an understatement!?

he also looks like a hockey player today, after slamming into the bookcase lst night during one of his "running" races. his constant need to win got the best of him last night, as he was trying to pass mike, he slammed into the bookcase. ugh, he has quite an egg on his forehead, but i have to say he is no worse for wear and has exhibited no other symptoms. he is one tough kid!
*for what its worth, i was at the gym when all of this went down, so this second-hand knowledge. i'm not claiming fault on this one-lol!

egg hunts, easter, playground fun...

to say i'm a bit belated in posting is an understatement. life seems to get in the way lately.

jack had a lot of fun preparing for easter this year. holidays seem to get more exciting for him the older he gets, and his excitement is certainly contagious. of course attempting to keep a delicate balance between the actual meaning of easter, and what we have come to know as the commercialized version can prove to be tricky. nevertheless, he had a blast...

we were also lucky enough to attend jack's art show at school this week. it was so nice to see some of the things he has been working on. truthfully, i am amazed with how far he has come with his art skills in the past year. he did such a nice job with following direction. i am hoping to get one or two framed for his room!

this week was also a special one because jack was the class VIP! he got to lead the class, help out with circle time, we colored a castle and within it we filled in all of jack's favorite things, we also read a story called "all by myself" and then discussed and drew all the things jack could do by himself (none too surprising that most of it was sports related-lol). the VIP also gets to bring in a special snack, and i had the opportunity to read to his class. as if this week wasn't busy enough, we ended it with school pictures!

next week is vacation, and we have a special visitor-mat man! stay tuned...i think mat man will be getting himself into some interesting predicaments;)
