my name is jack!

jack can now say his name! it is too cute...of course it isn't completely clear, but i'm still going to count it! slowly but surely he is beginning to "talk" more and more. i'm so excited for him, but kinda sad at the same time. he's growing up so quickly. he's beginning to act and look more and more like a little boy. he is a constant reminder of just how lucky i am to have him in my life and to experience all of these growths right along with him:)

looking a tad angelic...i love these ones with just a onesie, especially because it won't be long before he's too old for them:(

jack loves his new toy, but bailey sure wasn't loving it...

trying on mimi's shoes...one of his new favorite things to do--try on shoes!

"uh, mimi, these are so last season!"

*disclaimer: he has recently started throwing many things in the garbage; shoes, socks,
washcloths (not to sure what that's about)!?

talking to his broker:)

clearly relieved he told him to sell!!

fun at mimi and grandpa's...

mike has to work over the weekend, so jack and i decided we would come up for a visit. he has so much fun up here, between the dog (bailey), the ceiling fans, the vacuum & of course all the people, that it's a nice change of pace for him:)

he literally doesn't stop, and manages to get into a bit of trouble here and there, but that's to be expected i suppose!

here are some cute pics from yesterday;

uncle timmy got him up from his nap, but jack decided that his lap was comfy and snoozed for another 45 minutes! uh, he'd never do that for me!!?

fun with the ball...

yay, doggy!

"do you know how to get back inside?" "nope, do you?!"

happy st. patrick's day!

we had a really fun weekend visiting our friends dan & meg, as well as their two little ones; madison & macklin. macklin is 6 days younger than jack, so it was fun to see them interact and steal each others toys;)

we also headed to the parade today, and mike took a 1/2 day to meet us at grand central. shockingly, jack slept though most of it, but it was fun nonetheless!

here are some pics, unfortunately i was a bad photog this weekend and really didn't take any pics of the kids!?

jack and dad...a beer & a balloon, does it get any better?!

dude...

what's on your face?!

the pic is a bit over-exposed, but you might be wondering what IS on jack's face...sigh...i would reply dirt. i knew it was all too quiet in the house. i went into my bedroom only to find him eating the dirt in the aloe pot. it was everywhere...and this was of course after i had just finished cleaning. serves me right for trying to do the dishes! for a kid who cried like there was no tomorrow after eating sand at the beach last summer, he has certainly taken a liking to dirt...he doesn't discriminate either; the park, the stroller wheels, potted plants--mmmm, tasty?!

we've added a couple more "words" to the mix: gapa, gapa, gapa (translation: yo gabba, gabba), mimi (grandma, which is pretty cute to hear him say), and this strange sound that means again...for "mom, please read me this book for the 25th time, again!?"

here are some fun pics from the central park zoo. we took advantage of the 60 degree weather this past weekend and jack had a blast!

he got such a kick out of the goat statue!

happy 17 months!

yikes...can you believe it? the little guy is 17 months already and i feel like it was just yesterday that he was an infant!?

so let's see at 17 months, he has finally picked up on a couple more words (mama, dada, eat, nay (horse sound)...his comprehension far exceeds his verbal at this point, but i'm confident the words will catch up to him:) besides, i love to hear him babble as if we're having an actual conversation. he is also sleeping much better, which i can't believe i'm documenting considering our trials and tribulations! he's getting his canines (eye teeth) and they are definitely bothering him. so much so that he puts his hand over his mouth to tell me, oh and he then proceeds to walk to the cabinet where the teething tablets and motrin are...i couldn't even believe when he first did it and now i have to tell him "no, we don't need any medicine right now!" who says you can pull the wool over their eyes;)

so for fun, here is a pic from 3/6/07 & present;

this is one of my all-time favs

and because he's such a ham these days

i was looking at old pics the other day, as well as some video... jack took notice and he came up on my lap and we must have watched 20 videos of him. he was mesmerized...it was too cute. of course, i then started to get sad thinking about how little he used to be. you really don't grasp their growth until you look back and compare. it's so bittersweet.

here is a fun video from our finger painting fun...i was trying to get him say "eat, eat, eat, hmm..." which is what he does when he wants to, well, eat!

grrr...ugh...

this is the way things are going these days...my once sweet little guy has become so defiant!? he is just looking for ways to test me and time-outs don't seem to be working because when i threaten him with them he walks over to his "spot" willingly! i've gotten out my arsenal and have begun reading feverishly in hopes that i will be better prepared to discipline. we shall see...

on another note, i think it is time to give up the morning nap as jack is currently complaining from his crib. i mean it was only a 1/2 hour nap anyways. what i don't get is that he was yawning and zoning out minutes before i put him in?! just when you think you can read their tired signs i suppose:/

here are some pics from the last few days (notice the forehead bump...you can thank dad for that;)...
fun with fingerpaints...

mmm...tasty (no worries, their non-toxic:)

what? do i have something on my lip?!

ok, i'm done...can you let me out? (i had to put his chair there to deter him from fleeing the scene with fingerpaints all over himself!)

this is what you get when you say cheese!

again...cheese!
