happy 17 months!

yikes...can you believe it? the little guy is 17 months already and i feel like it was just yesterday that he was an infant!?

so let's see at 17 months, he has finally picked up on a couple more words (mama, dada, eat, nay (horse sound)...his comprehension far exceeds his verbal at this point, but i'm confident the words will catch up to him:) besides, i love to hear him babble as if we're having an actual conversation. he is also sleeping much better, which i can't believe i'm documenting considering our trials and tribulations! he's getting his canines (eye teeth) and they are definitely bothering him. so much so that he puts his hand over his mouth to tell me, oh and he then proceeds to walk to the cabinet where the teething tablets and motrin are...i couldn't even believe when he first did it and now i have to tell him "no, we don't need any medicine right now!" who says you can pull the wool over their eyes;)

so for fun, here is a pic from 3/6/07 & present;

this is one of my all-time favs

and because he's such a ham these days

i was looking at old pics the other day, as well as some video... jack took notice and he came up on my lap and we must have watched 20 videos of him. he was mesmerized...it was too cute. of course, i then started to get sad thinking about how little he used to be. you really don't grasp their growth until you look back and compare. it's so bittersweet.

here is a fun video from our finger painting fun...i was trying to get him say "eat, eat, eat, hmm..." which is what he does when he wants to, well, eat!

You know, you'd think these posts, photos and videos would be less interesting to me as I am living so much of it at the same time because of Ben's age being so close to Jack's. But no, I love the kid and I have to tell you, I was smiling and giggling at this video! I love his talking, the way he's touching his chest and how he owns the cabinets... like it's a toy box. :-) So cute. Everything about it just made me smile.

Love, Aunt Melissa

Good Morning Jack,
Yes I am looking at your picture again and listening to your little angel voice. I just have to see you everyday. You make me so happy when I see and hear you.
Of course it's not as much fun as when I see you in person, but I still love to check your blog and see what you are going to surprise us with next.
You are such a busy little man and I love you like crazy cakes...
